Life Kids

Rachel is a Montgomery native who graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor's in Public Relations. She went on to graduate from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master's in Christian Education.

She was previously a member at Taylor Road as her family attended the church for many years. She began her ministry career in 2009 and returned to Taylor Road to join the staff in July 2025. Her experience includes children's ministry and marketing at a local pro-life ministry.

Rachel married Dale in 2011, and they have two boys. She enjoys reading, traveling, and attending her boys' many athletic events.

Life Kids consists of our preschool and children departments with ages ranging from birth through 5^th grade. Our mission is to introduce children to Jesus, teach them God’s Word, and prepare them to become lifelong disciples. We do this through multiple weekly programs including Nursery Care, Worship Hours, Life Groups, Children’s Choir, and Missions. Additional activities are planned throughout the year such as Vacation Bible School, Life Kids Camp, Mission Projects, and Family Nights to provide further opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth.

At Taylor Road, we are creating little disciples just like we make big ones! It all starts on Sunday mornings with Praise Garden and

Rise & Shine.

Praise Garden is for our K4 and K5 friends who have not yet entered kindergarten. After checking in upon arrival at 9am, children will attend a time of worship featuring lessons and playtime centered around weekly Bible teachings with qualified leaders. After Praise Garden, children are led by leaders to attend their own Life Group until parent pickup at 11:30am.

Rise & Shine is for our friends in kindergarten - 3rd grade. After checking in upon arrival at 9am, children will begin in the morning service for family worship. Then, prior to the sermon, children will be dismissed to Rise & Shine where leaders will meet them in the foyer and lead them to their worship room. They will continue to learn lessons, sing songs, and engage in fun activities centered around biblical teachings. From there, Life Group leaders will direct them to their grade-level classes for the Life Group hour. Parent pickup is at 11:30am.

Praise Garden and Rise & Shine are not held on 5th Sundays. This allows children to join their parents for a time of family worship throughout the entirety of the morning service.
